Poszedłem do pracy jak zwykle wcześnie rano. Nigdy nie sprawiało mi problemów wstawanie, gdyż lubiłem to co robiłem. Codziennie przemierzałem tę sama drogę co było dla mnie swoistego rodzaju ,,mantrą’’. Nie zawsze, ale dość często mijałem te same zmarnowane twarze ludzi schodzących z trzecich zmian lub idących na pierwsze do pracy. Zawsze nosiłem zestaw słuchawkowy. Słuchawki wepchnięte prawie, że do środka głowy i wypływająca z nich moja ulubiona muzyka. Nie jestem osobą,

Coraz bardziej zdumiewało mnie to jak szybko ludzie mogą mi wchodzić na głowę, a ja nie reagowałam. Niby po cichu, a jednak każdy coś chciał ode mnie. Nie potrafię się sprzeciwić presji otoczenia i być może dlatego mam tak mało do powiedzenia w domu. Rodzice od zawsze traktowali mnie jak małą dziewczynkę. Nic nie mogłam powiedzieć, ani wygłaszać swoich zdań. Jakimś cudem jednak udało im się bardzo precyzyjnie stawiać mnie do pionu. Takie jest moje nieszczęsne życie. Z dnia na dzie

Zbliżał się wieczór, Rafael wciąż biegł. A przynajmniej starał się to robić. W boku czuł pulsujący ból, jak przeszywające ostrze. Nogi ciążyły mu jak odlane z ołowiu. W ustach czuł metaliczny posmak, jakby trzymał ma języku monety. Każdy oddech sprawiał mu ból. Ale widok coraz ciemniejszego nieba, widocznego poprzez gałęzie drzew, wystarczył, by zmusić go do brnięcia naprzód.
